I have a series of lakes that show up in my backyard after the snow melt / steady rain. We have these three (two males, one female) ducks that show up and swim. I don’t know why they travel like that, maybe lady ducks like options.

are there now duck eggs in your backyard?
years ago we had a duck build a nest in our front yard, right up in the corner between the house and porch. and of course, right under the mail box. other than a bit of hissing when anyone got too close, there wasn’t much issue.

Not yet. She flew off when I went out to take her picture. Best for her, I think, because we have a bunch of raccoons around here and I doubt it would have ended well for Mr. and Mrs. Mallard.
